Mortgage Assistant

Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Type: Full-Time, Temp to Hire

Our client is looking for a Mortgage Assistant to join their team immediately.

Summary: Full-Time Mortgage Assistant needed for our Santa Rosa, CA Client. This position monitors customer and Title Company Payoff/Demand and Beneficiary Statement requests and partial reconveyances as required. Must have an Associates Degree 3-5 years experience in Loan Origination Systems development/support in the financial sector.

Mortgage Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and schedules own workload to most efficiently meet department and company objectives.
  • Provides highest level of customer service to customers and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Ensures customer and staff issues are handled in a timely manner, consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains Payoff/Demand and Beneficiary Statements, including reconveyances and partial releases.
  • Completes all steps associated with closing out a paid off file.
  • Assists with monitoring data input for payoff from checks or wires as necessary.
  • Assists with loan payment posting.
  • Assists with branch balancing functions.
  • Prepares UCC Amendments & Terminations.
  • Adheres to all applicable compliance regulations, including BSA, BPA and Right to Financial Privacy.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Fair Lending.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate’s degree (AA/AS); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of Word and Excel software and ability to manipulate data sources and analyze financial statements.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prefer background in mortgage lending.
